Obituary for Donald McMorris
Donald A. McMorris, better known as "Fuzz", 70, of Beulah, died April 10, 2013 at Munson Medical Center. Born Nov 10 1942 in Flushing, MI the son of John David and Fredia Dorothy (Breier) McMorris. Fuzz married Connie Sturm on November 2, 1967. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Fuzz worked 32 years at Buick in Flint, Local 599 Union Member retired in 1994 as a fireman. He was an 18 year member of Mt. Morris Township Fire Department Station No 2. He belonged to Benzie Masonic Lodge 444 after transferring from the Flint Masonic Lodge 23. He joined Elf Khurafeh Shrine in 1973, serving in the Military Patrol, then oriental Band and retired from his favorite group The Clowns and "Nod". He served the Honor Lions Club for 12 years, and the last five as "Tail Twister".
He loved spending time with his two granddaughters and was very proud of their achievements.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of 45 years; daughter, Jade Adams and son in law, Steve Adams; granddaughters, April and Macy, all of Benzonia. Sisters, Jackie (Steve) Chrenko of Georgia, Fredia Worden of New Lathrop, MI, and Marge (David) Watkins of Arizona; brother, John (Michelle) McMorris and Russell (Pegg) McMorris of Tennessee; several nieces, nephew and close cousins; beloved boxer, Bella.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Crystal Lynn McMorris; parents; and brother, David (Bud) McMorris.
Visitation will be Friday April 26 from 5 to 8PM with a memorial service at 7:30P at the Jowett Family Funeral Homes, Benzonia. Memorial service is scheduled for 11AM Saturday, April 27 at the funeral home. Pastor Barb Fay will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Burn Unit, Gift of Life or Lions Club in Honor. The family wishes to thank his doctors, nurses at Munson A4, Benzie EMS Staff and the Palliative Health Care Team, especially Greta Peck and Paul Oliver Lab & IV Therapy.
